How would you describe your shop’s vibe? 

The Gold Standard Barbershop is a social space with a mid-century modern design aesthetic providing a traditional old-school barbering experience in a relaxed environment. Guys of all ages can relax, make friends and share ideas over a complimentary drink or a game of pool. 

What’s your favourite Uppercut Deluxe products? 

Matte Pomade.

Who is your favourite artist to spin in the shop? 

The Beatles! But you’ll hear a diverse range of sounds in the shop including jazz, blues, punk, and an eclectic array in between. Right now, we’re playing Social Distortion.

What’s your favourite style to cut? 

I love transforming someone’s look, but any classically inspired style is still fun. I most enjoy creating a low tapered slick back with a DA.

What the best advice for your client before walking in? 

Be prepared to laugh.

Why did you get into barbering?

I wanted a career that was fun, creative, and involved interacting with people from varied walks of life.
