What the best advice for your client before walking in?
Be open to suggestions, if you’re unsure what you want. A good barber should be sizing you up for what would suit you, as soon as you walk in the door. Oh, and sanitise your hands haha.
Who is your biggest barbering influence?
I hope I can answer this in two ways. In terms of getting in to hair, to then get on to Barbering, its a guy called Lee Stafford. Essex boy like me, and a total legend. But what made me think ‘I want to be a Barber’ was Paul Hewitt of Black L’Amour Barbers. Another proper solid dude, and huge help to me when I started.
Why did you get into Barbering?
I’ve always loved style. From the Mods, to Punks, to the Rock and Rolling 50’s and even the Roaring 20’s Gangster era. I wanted to create those hair styles. So here I am, and luckily, I get to do that every day.
