Mod culture rose to popularity throughout England in the UK and has been present ever since, stepping in and out of the mainstream thanks to brands like Fred Perry and Ben Sherman.
This variation of the Textured Mod Cut really found it’s stride in the UK throughout the 90’s thanks to the Gallagher brothers of Oasis and has seen a massive resurgence in recent years.
At a glance, a style like this can be an intimidating task, with the proper styling products and a couple of tricks it is remarkably easy and you will be on your way to a textured Mod Style in no time.
HOW TO STYLE
You’ll want to start by washing your hair using the Uppercut Deluxe wash range. Firstly, using a generous helping of Uppercut Deluxe Shampoo you’ll want to clean the hair of yesterdays styling product. Then using a few pumps of Uppercut Deluxe Conditioner you’ll want to condition the hair, keeping the hair healthy and strong with some natural volume.
Now that your hair is clean, and you have a fresh start, it's time to style. To make the best use of Styling Powder, you will need your hair to be bone dry. This will ensure plenty of hold, while maintaining the product free look.
To start, use a CB11 Rake Comb to encourage your hair into place. Gently comb around your crown to ensure hair is sitting naturally, then comb your fringe forward.
Next, gently shake the Styling Powder across the entirety of your hair. Ensure that all areas are covered with a light dusting of powder. Beginning at your crown, use your fingertips to ‘scrunch’ the hair. Scrunching encourages texture and will begin to piece out sections. Gently use your fingertips ruffle the fringe to spread the Styling Powder across the hair.
Now, you should have the overall textured style achieved. Perfecting the style comes down to the individual need and look you are after. Some people like to comb the fringe forward for a blunt look, while others will pinch sections out for additional texture. However, since Styling Powder remains reworkable you will have plenty of time to make sure your hair sits just right!
